Kabataan Party-list files amendments to 2016 General Appropriations Bill

 Student-leaders of Rise for Education and Kabataan Party-list filed amendments to the 2016 national budget to wipe out the cuts in the budget of SUCs. Apart from restoring the MOOE cuts in 59 SUCs, we also pushed for additional CO budget for student facilities like dormitories, classrooms, and laboratories, especially for UP. For UP Manila, there was a proposed 8-storey dormitory for students. Removal of provisions that allow maximum fund discretion in several agencies, provisions that essentially legitimize DAP, were moved.

Student-leaders of Rise for Education and Kabataan Party-list filed amendments to the 2016 national budget to wipe out the cuts in the budget of state universities and colleges (SUCs). Apart from restoring the maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) cuts in 59 SUCs, we also pushed for additional capital outlay (CO) budget for student facilities like dormitories, classrooms, and laboratories, especially for UP. For UP Manila, there was a proposed 8-storey dormitory for students.
