Timeline: 1st week of Martial Law in Mindanao

Day 1: May 24 (Wednesday)
– massive bombing of Marawi City: 1 child killed; disorganized, massive evacuaton of civilians
– shelling ang bombing in Manatao, Davao del Sur

Day 2: May 25 (Thursday)
– mass arrest of 260 civilians only because they could not present IDs
– Davao City gov’t releases 30-point guidelines for the curtailment of civil liberties
– 1,800 families from Marawi evacuated since May 22
– 30 women (Lumad, Moro) gathered and were put under interrogation for an hour by 6th Marine Landing Battalion

Day 3: May 26 (Friday)
– AFP aerial bombing: 1 civilian killed, 5 wounded, more than 2,000 affected
– Duterte: “Kapag naka-rape kayo ng tatlo, aminin ko na akin ‘yon.”
– AFP announces it will exercise the right to censure, esp. in social media
– PNP: leaders and organizers of “anti-government” rallies will be arrested
– GMA-7: Amay Pakpak Medical Center never overrun by the Maute group

Day 4: May 27 (Saturday)
– widespread operations of PA 3rd ID in Panay
– checpoints put up in Tacloban city
– “surgical airstrikes” carried out by AFP in Marawi
– curfew implemented in Kabacan, Cotabato
– elements of 66th IB barged into the picketline of the striking workers of Shin Sun Company in Compostela Valley

Day 5: May 28 (Sunday)
– Mira Digaynon, Mandaya woman from Baganga, Davao Oriental was killed by 67th IB PA elements

Day 6: May 29 (Monday)
– continued indiscriminate bombing in Marawi City
– aerial bombing in Barangay Kimlawis, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur
– Iligan City lockdown
